Jasmin Ortíz-Batir is a Community Leader and Health Care Professional, born and raised in Puerto Rico, the daughter of José A. Ortíz and Dinah Batir. Jasmin’s spirit of leadership has given her the opportunity to help many families and communities both internationally and in the United States.

Jasmin has always strived for excellence. In 1995, she earned a degree in Biology and in 2000, she specialized in Medical Technology at the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico.

For Jasmin, family is her inspiration to always continue to advance both professionally and as a volunteer.

One of the most precious aspects of her life, is her marriage to the renowned Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon, Dr. Ramón A. Pérez-Rosich, since the year 2000. She met him while studying Biology at the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico.

They have maintained a Christ-Centered loving relationship for 19 years, sharing their faith in Christ, their day-to-day work and the satisfaction of doing humanitarian missions to help as many communities as possible.

Their marriage has been enriched by their four children; Ramón, Lucas, Isabel and Gabriela Pérez. The latter has followed in her father’s and grandfather’s Ramón A. Pérez García footsteps and has chosen to study Dentistry.

From 2004 to 2010, Jasmin worked at the Florida Health Department and since 2010 she has worked at OMSA, as the administrator of their offices, which are currently located at Plantation, Miami Gardens and West Kendall.

Along with her husband, Dr. Ramon Pérez who is highly esteemed as the Doctor of Missions, she founded the health-fairs “Improving Your Health” (Mejorando Su Salud), which have been held since 2008, in the South Florida cities of Pembroke Pines, Little Haiti, Immokalee, Kissimmee, Homestead and Orlando. This initiative led her to uncover her passion for missionary trips.

Jasmin is one of the founders and a Board member of the nonprofit organization called, “I Am For You” which is composed of professionals in the medical field and who are passionate volunteers willing to use their talents and abilities to help others in the underserved communities.

Her generosity and interests have taken her to work as a volunteer in assisting people in crisis.

She portrays the kind of civic leadership that is highly appreciated in her community. Jasmin dedicates hours of volunteer work in favor of a children’s home known as, “His House Children’s Home”, a nonprofit organization that provides residential care for at-risk children in a campus home-like setting and loving foster homes in the community.

In her personal life, Jasmin is very focused in her health and wellbeing. She has developed great skills as an athlete by practicing bodybuilding, a discipline for which she has excelled.
